H.E. Ambassador Sharing on Cambodia to Blue Gum Community School Students

On 7 June 2023, H.E. Dr. CHEUNBORAN Chanborey, Ambassador of Cambodia to Australia, attended a sharing session on Cambodia, at Khmerrangsi Buddhist Temple, to secondary school students from the Blue Gum Community School in the ACT before they are headed to Cambodia for a study visit in July 2023. During the session, Ambassador Chanborey provided a general background of Cambodia – short history and current contexts – and Cambodia-Australia relations with the emphasis on the importance of people-to-people links. The session was also featured with: (1) Buddhist teaching by Abbot PHIN Sokol; (2) presentation on the Mekong River, Tonle Sap Lake and Angkor Wat by Dr. SOMETH Paradis, Principal Hydrologist at the Canberra-based eWater; and (3) presentation on education in Cambodia by Mr. SOTH Sothearak, Cambodian Master’s student at the Australian National University.

On 10 May 2023, H.E. Dr. CHEUNBORAN Chanborey, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Cambodia to Australia, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. XIAO Qian, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Australia. During the meeting, they took note with satisfaction of the progress of Cambodia-China traditional friendship and close cooperation and discussed ways to further promote Cambodia-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and the building of the Community of Shared Future between the two countries. They also exchanged view on many issues, including ASEAN-China Dialogue Relations, the role of ASEAN, and the fast-evolving security and geo-economic landscape in the region.
