On 1 May 2023, H.E. Dr. CHEUNBORAN Chanborey, Ambassador of Cambodia to Australia, attended as a panellist at the Southeast Asia Regional Geopolitical Update organized by the ANU Southeast Asia Institute. Ambassador Chanborey stressed that development and security are increasingly intertwined as global politics is getting more tense and confrontational. In this context, ASEAN and its member states have consistently resisted the temptation that regional issues shall be reduced to contest between major powers in a zero-sum game. It is in the interest of all to maintain and promote ASEAN Centrality by strengthening its unity internally, exercising neutrality and fairness externally, and being proactive in building an open, inclusive, rules-based regional architecture. More, ASEAN has attempted to de-securitize regional issues, vividly illustrated by the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP). He argued that Cambodia has always subscribed to the above-mentioned premise by adopting a principled approach based on (1) economic pragmatism, (2) independent foreign policy, (3) commitment to rules-based regional and international order.

The Kingdom of Cambodia announced an official launch of the country's first industrial gold manufacturing in O' Kvav region of Keo Seima district, Mondulkiri province scheduled for June 21. Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia shared the good news in his public letter issued this evening (10 June ). After 14 years of feasibility study and exploration, the licensed Renaissance Minerals (Cambodia) Ltd. on June 10 produced Cambodia's first semi -finished gold bars technically called Gold Dore Bars with 90 percent gold solution, wrote Samdech Techo Prime Minister. According to its assessment report, the Renaissance Minerals company a subsidiary of Australia-listed Emerald Resources NL - can produce three tones of pure gold on an annual average for the first eight years of operation. With the mentioned capacity of industrial gold production, he underlined, about US$185 million gross revenue is expected to be generated per year, of which some US$40 million as Royalty income and tax revenue to be used for social and economic development. Samdech Techo Prime Minister considered the international standard gold manufacturing in O' Kvav region as a model for future mineralization in Cambodia toward sustainable development. While encouraging highly qualified technical mineral manufacturing for lasting and environment friendly mineralization, he reminded that underqualified operation will not bring about any benefit, but is likely to cause accident and harm the environment. Samdech Techo Prime Minister expressed his pride of Cambodia as a "golden country", spoke highly of all the teams who were part of the historic achievement for Cambodia, and thanked all Cambodians for the support and confidence on the leadership of the Royal Government.

On 5-8 May 2023, H.E. Dr. CHEUNBORAN Chanborey, Ambassador of Cambodia to Australia, and Ms. CHEAM Putpisey, Trade Attaché at the Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Canberra attended to the launching of the Representative Offices of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce in Melbourne and Sydney. Ambassador Chanborey also presided over the medal conferment from the Royal Government of Cambodia to 27 Cambodian-Australians in Melbourne for their contribution to Cambodia’s socio-economic development.

On 28 March 2023, H.E. Dr. CHEUNBORAN Chanborey, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Cambodia to Australia, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Garry Ramlee HJ Ibrahim, High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Australia at the High Commission of Brunei Darussalam in Canberra.

On 30 May 2023, H.E. Dr. CHEUNBORAN Chanborey and Spouse as well as the diplomatic staffs at the Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Canberra hosted an informal dinner reception for Cambodian delegates who are on Agri-food Study Mission for Agri-food Investment Desk and Female Entrepreneur Study Visit, funded by the Australian government under the Cambodia-Australia Partnership for Resilient Economic Development and the Mekong-Australia Partnership.

On July 5, 2022, H.E. Ambassador, Chair of ASEAN Committee in Canberra, hosts and co-chairs the meeting with Mr. Andrew Parker, Australian Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner for ASEAN to discuss trade and investment promotions between ASEAN and Australia.
