The Inter-Ministerial Committee to Combat Covid-19 is honored to inform the public that to facilitate the quarantine of national and international travelers entering Cambodia through the Phnom Penh International Airport, the Committee decides to launch the reservation service of two hotels, Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel and Residence and Courtyard by Marriott Phnom Penh, and travelers who wish to use this service shall apply the following principles: — Travelers shall select a hotel and make a reservation directly through the hotel website www.sokhahotels.com.kh/phnompenh/ or www.courtyardphnompenh .com and shall book hotel room 2 days prior to the departure. — Upon arrival at Phnom Penh International Airport, travelers who have booked accommodation at Sokha Phnom Penh & Residence Hotel or Courtyard by Marriott Phnom Penh shall comply as follows: Present the necessary travel documents as in the case of regular travelers, such as a valid visa issued by the Cambodian Embassy or Consulate of the country concerned, a health certificate issued by health authorities which is recognized by the government of the country concerned, indicating that negative for Covid-19 within 72 hours prior to the departure, and a certificate of purchase of health insurance that foreign travelers are required to purchase health insurance to cover for Covid-19 treatment. Present a copied document indicating that the accommodation has been reserved for a 14-day quarantine, to the competent officials. — In the event that the competent authorities find a high risk on travelers, those shall cooperate to follow the designated location by the competent authorities for undertaking the quarantine. Besides, the hotel reservation which is unusable, the hotel will refund the deposit to the traveler. In this case, the traveler is required to deposit $ 2,000 as regular travelers. — The booking hotel shall arrange transportation for travelers from Phnom Penh International Airport to its location by complying with the applicable health measures. — Users of this service shall properly comply with the applicable health measures during the quarantine. — After the traveler completes the quarantine, Sokha Phnom Penh and Residence Hotel and Courtyard by Marriott Phnom Penh shall pay the Government's expenses related to the implementation of health measures during the quarantine in accordance with the Letter No. 4898 MEF dated 8 June 2020. Travelers who do not use the above-mentioned hotels reservation service shall comply with the existing procedures, by requiring to deposit of 2,000 US dollars to guarantee the cost of the quarantine process, and shall follow the designated location by the competent authorities. The press release is considered as a notification to the public, particularly for the competent authorities for their cooperation, the hotels are responsible for providing good services, and travelers who wish to use this service shall follow the above instructions properly. On18 April 2023, H.E. Dr. CHEUNBORAN Chanborey, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Cambodia to Australia paid a courtesy call on H.E. Ms. Michelle Chan, Deputy Secretary, Southeast Asia and Global Partners Group at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. During the meeting, H.E. Chan congratulated Ambassador Chanborey on his new assignment and welcomed him back to Australia. Moreover, the two discussed a broad range of issues, including strengthened Cambodia-Australia relations, the political and socio-economic developments in Cambodia, Australia’s engagement in ASEAN and the Mekong, and the security and strategic landscape in the Asia-Pacific.

On 21 March 2023, Mr. LIM Sambath, Counsellor, and Colonel MORN Khanrithy Defense Attaché, met with Mr. Paul Mergard, CEO of the Destiny Rescue Australia, and his Executive Partnership Manager, Mr. Greg Bradley, at the Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Canberra to discuss the Destiny Rescue Australia’s operations in Southeast Asia, including in Cambodia, with the emphasis on regional cooperation and collaboration in countering sexual abuse and trafficking in persons.

On16 March 2023, His Excellency Dr. CHEUNBORAN Chanborey, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Cambodia to Australia, presented the Letter of Credence to His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Retd), Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia at the Government House in Canberra.
